What "custom" means here

A custom pillow isn't just a pillow you can unzip and re-stuff. A real custom-fit pillow is one that's been chosen for the geometry of your head, neck, shoulder, mattress, and sleep position. Maple narrows it to one match — and explains why — instead of giving you eight near-identical options to compare.

  • 8 measured profiles instead of one adjustable shell
  • Quiz-driven match based on 8 inputs about how you sleep
  • 90-day fit trial with free fit replacement if the match is off
  • Made in Canada from foam pour to packaging

Why generic pillows fail

Six failure modes a custom-fit pillow has to solve.

Failure mode

Too high

The chin pushes forward and the front of the neck stretches all night.

Failure mode

Too low

The head tips back, the cervical curve overextends, and the shoulder takes the weight.

Failure mode

Too soft

The foam settles by hour two — the support you fell asleep on is gone by morning.

Failure mode

Too hot

Closed-cell foam holds heat; cool-to-the-touch covers stop working in minutes.

Failure mode

Wrong shape for the position

Cervical contours assume back sleeping; soft pillows assume nothing — both fail combo sleepers.

Failure mode

Wrong loft for the mattress

Soft mattresses need less pillow loft than firm mattresses, and almost no pillows label it that way.

Frequently asked

Custom-pillow questions, answered plainly.

What does "custom pillow" mean here?

Custom-fit, not custom-printed. The Maple quiz takes eight inputs — sleep position, mattress firmness, shoulder breadth, neck length, body frame, thermal preference, turn frequency, and any current habits — and matches you to one of eight measured-loft profiles. The pillow itself is a manufactured product, but the recommendation is personal.

Is a custom-fit pillow better than an adjustable pillow?

It depends on whether you want to do the fitting yourself. Adjustable pillows give you the parts; custom-fit pillows give you a recommendation. Adjustable wins if you enjoy the experiment. Custom-fit wins if you'd rather get the right one the first time.

Are these pillows really made in Canada?

Yes. The polyurethane chemistry, the foam pour, the cure cycle, the inner cover, and final packaging all happen at our parent factory in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec — open since 1991. The outer MapleCool™ cover yarn is imported, so the legal claim is "Made in Canada with imported and domestic materials."

What if the recommended pillow isn't right?

We start with troubleshooting — most fit issues are setup or adaptation. If after a real trial the profile is genuinely wrong, our 90-day fit replacement sends the right one at no charge.

Ready to find your match?

The fit quiz is the fastest way to land on the right profile.

Eight questions, about 60 seconds. The result is one specific pillow, one explanation of why, and a 90-day fit trial if the match isn't right.
